A policeman punched a woman directly in the face before tackling her to the floor at Miami International Airport.
The officer, who has already been suspended, and the woman already appear to be arguing as the shocking footage starts.
The woman walks towards the American officer shouting: “You’re black.
"You’re acting like you’re white, but you’re really black."
She then adds: "What are you going to do?”
The policeman then pulls his fist back and punches her hard, causing her to stagger backwards as eyewitnesses can be heard gasping.
A second officer standing nearby then joins to assist the first, as they grab the woman and pin her down to place her under arrest.
Miami Dade Police Department's director Alfredo Ramirez acted swiftly announcing an investigation had been launched into the officers' conduct, just half an hour after the video was posted to Twitter.
In a statement he said: “I am shocked and angered by a body cam video that I just saw involving one of our officers.
"I’ve immediately initiated an investigation and ordered that the involved officers be relieved of duty.
“Actions such as these undermine the hard work that we have invested in our community and causes my heart to break for our community and for the vast majority of our officers who dedicate their lives to serving our county.
The director said he has also requested State Attorney Kathy Rundle to assist in the investigation into the involved officers, who have not been identified.
He added: “This will not stand, and I assure our community that any officer acting in this vain will be held to account."
