Policeman accused of being physically and verbally abusive at Christmas party

A police officer accused of abusing colleagues and a staff member at a Christmas party is to have his case heard at a disciplinary hearing next week.

It is alleged PC James McCall was both physically and verbally abusive at the party, which took place at a public venue on December 13, 2018.

It is also alleged he verbally abused two on-duty PCSOs in Taunton town centre in September 2018.

PC McCall was off duty on both occasions.

If proven, the allegations would amount to gross misconduct.

The case is set to be heard at a police misconduct hearing at Avon and Somerset Police HQ in Portishead on Monday and Tuesday (November 11 and 12).
