Feb. 26--Lashay Drane didn't have a driver's license on her when she was pulled over on the South Side, but police say they found plenty of other IDs when they checked the glove box: more than 60 bogus bank and gift cards.
Drane, 22, of Aurora, was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon and charged with with aggravated identity theft, according to police.
Drane was driving a black 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix south on Western Avenue around 11 p.m. Monday when officers pulled her over at 62nd Street for failing to signal while changing lanes, according to a police report.
The officers ordered her and three passengers out of the car when Drane was not able to produce a license, the report said.
An officer checked the glove box for Drane's insurance and found two suspected counterfeit debit bank cards with Drane's name on them, three other fake debit cards with no names on them and 59 counterfeit gift cards, according to the police report.
Some of the names on the cards were of people older than 60, police said.
When officers asked her about the cards, the report said she replied, "None of those cards are mine."
Drane, of the 800 block of Lake Street in Aurora, appeared in bond court Thursday afternoon. She was held on $25,000 bond and is due back in court on March 24.
