Police with 'riot shields' on Glasgow street amid 'concern for person'

A man has been taken into custody after an incident in Glasgow involving around a dozen police officers.

Emergency services were called to Broompark Drive in the east end of the city at around 5.30pm on Monday.

An eyewitness told the PA news agency that at one point there were six marked police cars and an unmarked vehicle along with an ambulance and paramedic car.

Officers were said to be carrying battering rams and riot shields to deal with the incident which a force spokesman said was "concern for a person".

A 22-year-old man was taken into custody, with police leaving the scene at about 7pm.
