Police were called to reports of a body seen in the River Irwell.
Large numbers of police, ambulance and fire service vehicles were seen parked on Bridge Street, in Spinningfields, on Wednesday lunchtime.
A member of the public had contacted police after reportedly seeing a body in the water.
However, all was not what it seemed.
When officers got closer to the river they realised the body was in fact a mannequin.
The emergency service vehicles quickly left the scene.
