Police have been spotted in the Possilpark area of Glasgow wearing full riot gear.
The nature of the incident is not yet clear but a number of officers were seen in Barloch Street on Wednesday evening.
A Police Scotland spokesperson earlier confirmed to Glasgow Live they were dealing with "an ongoing police incident" but officers would give no further details.
Pictures posted on social media appear to show police officers decked out in riot gear and carrying shields, while there are police cars and vans pictured at the scene.
One comment online reads: "Ongoing Police operation in Possil. Police in full riot gear with shields. Hope no one is hurt."
Barloch Street is found just off Saracen Street in the centre of Possil.
