The police watchdog is continuing to investigate after a man's body was found on the M67.
The body was struck by 'several vehicles' including the police vehicle that was responding to the incident, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said.
GMP were called to a report of a body near junction two of the motorway, at Denton, at 7am on Saturday (December 18).
The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
In an update issued today (Wednesday), a spokesperson for the IOPC said the circumstances of the incident were being investigated.
They said officers will be talking to witnesses and reviewing footage from the scene.

Police said yesterday that no further details were being released about the man before formal identification has taken place.
A spokesperson for the IOPC said: "We are independently investigating the circumstances of an incident on the M67 on Saturday (18 December), in which several vehicles struck a man on the carriageway.
"The matter was referred to us by Greater Manchester Police due to the fact a police vehicle responding to a report of a body on the motorway was one of those involved.
"As part of our investigation, we will be speaking to witnesses and reviewing footage of the incident."
The eastbound side of the M67 was closed for over 12 hours between Denton Island and Hyde from 7.30am as emergency services responded to the incident.
The westbound carriageway was also closed off for a number of hours.
Anyone with information about the incident or dash cam footage is asked to contact GMP by calling 0161 856 4741, quoting incident number 781 of December 18, 2021.
