Police warning to tourists heading to South West beaches this weekend

Enjoy sunny Devon - but drive there safely.

That's the message from police as thousands of tourists are expected to stream to the county in coming days.

A BMW driver was pulled over yesterday (July 31) by Devon and Cornwall Police on the A380 near Ware Barton.

Officers said the driver was 'stopped and dealt with' for speeding and undertaking on a dual carriageway, Devon Live reports.

They made it clear inconsiderate driving would not be tolerated.

Police tweeted: "Welcome to Devon, have a safe holiday but please be considerate to other road users.

"This driver was stopped and dealt with for undertaking vehicles on a busy dual carriageway and excess speed."
