Police warning to public as cats die after being poisoned with anti-freeze in Ollerton

Police have issued a warning to the public after two cats were poisoned with anti-freeze in a Nottinghamshire village.

Police say the cats fell ill on Friday, March 26 and later died as a result of the poisoning.

Both cats were from Whinney Lane, in Ollerton and the force are now asking for anyone with more information to come forward.

They have condemned the "cruel and inhumane" act and have vowed to try and catch those responsible.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: "We have received a report that two cats have been poisoned with anti freeze on Whinney Lane, Ollerton.

Sadly, both cats died as a result. If you have any information in relation to this crime, please report it. The cats became ill on Friday, March 26.

The spokesperson continued: "This is not only crime but also a very cruel and inhumane act. We hope that with your help, we will catch whoever is responsible."
