Police warning to drivers after car doors ripped off and van destroyed in horror smash

Police officers have warned road users to take extra care when there is rainfall after a horror smash left one car with its doors ripped off and a van destroyed in the Fife region.

A car had lost control during a spell of heavy rainfall in Fife, and left the right side of the road to bulldoze into the opposite carriageway, into an unsuspecting van driver.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Caxton Place in Fife, at approximately 10:50am after the crash near a car wash place, the Daily Record reports.

Images released have shown the extreme extent of the damage to both vehicles, including doors ripped almost all the way off, roofs caved in on impact and lots of debris from the smash spread across the road.

Officers who were at the scene say they are amazed that no injuries were sustained during this road traffic accident.

Police Scotland said via a statement: "Please take care driving today, heavy rain across the region is making roads slippery.
