When raiding the home police found numerous stolen items including an iPad, a laptop and debit cards. Hill was sentenced to one year in prison.

Speaking after the sentencing, Detective Inspector Kevin O'Rourke from Operation Castle, said: “Thanks to residents in Huyton who gave us vital information about Hill and his whereabouts our officers were able to arrest and charge him for several theft offences. Residents who are targeted in theft often suffer stress, upset and inconvenience and I hope the victims of Hill are reassured by this result.

“If you see or capture on CCTV or dashcam anyone acting suspiciously close to vehicles where you are, let us know so we can continue to take positive and prompt action. There are also some good tips on our force website to ensure your vehicle isn’t an easy target.

"Always lock your doors as opportunists will try door handles of cars and homes. Fit a dashcam, alarm and good in-car security locks.”
