Police warning as driver crashes onto roundabout - then has car seized

Officers have seized a car after reports the driver had become tired and 'failed to negotiate' a roundabout.

The incident was reported in the early hours of Sunday morning, (February 2) and the car was found on an island in Pleasley, on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border.

Pictures released by officers show a Mini car on the verge of the roundabout, as well as tyre tracks and damage to road signs.

Police confirmed the driver was "not drunk or drugged but driving tired".

No one was injured as a result of the incident, however the car was uninsured and seized.

A tweet from Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit with the pictures read: "Pleasley. Not drunk or drugged but driving tired.

"Fails to negotiate roundabout. Expensive night as car not insured. Fortunately no injuries. Seized."
