Police warning after spate of robberies at family funfair in Fallowfield

Police are warning families to be vigilant after a spate of robberies at the funfair on Platt Fields Park .

GMP has received a number of reports of offenders targeting people at the popular attraction in Fallowfield .

Families are also being targeted as they walk to and from the event on Platt Lane.

Police issued the warning in a statement on the GMP Fallowfield, Withington, Levenshulme and Burnage Facebook page.

They said they are liaising with the fair security team and park patrols to try and identify the culprits.

Police are on regular patrols in the area but are asking anyone with information to come forward.

They added: "We want everyone to enjoy the fair as much as possible, and have fun and be in a safe environment and we are working hard to provide this."

The Easter holiday fun fair opened on March 30 and will be in town until the bank holiday Monday on April 22.

Tickets can be bought for time slots between 1pm to 5pm and 4pm to 8pm.
