Police warn public after cash machines were 'tampered with' in West Bridgford

Nottinghamshire Police is investigating after two cash machines in West Bridgford were tampered with.

Officers are appealing for anyone who used the machines come forward.

The cash machines, at the Post Offices in Trent Boulevard, in Lady Bay, and Melton Road, in West Bridgford, are believed to have been interfered with between May 28 and July 22.

The machines were not dispensing cash to customers as a result.

Police have said they are now safe to use but have warned the public to be wary of any devices attached to the machines that may look out of place.

Police constable Paul Henson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are looking for people who used the cash machines at Lady Bay and Melton Road Post Offices only.

“An ATM failing to dispense cash is usually not suspicious and we recommend that you contact your bank if this is the case.

“However, we are led to believe that these specific cash machines were tampered with and I’d encourage you to come forward if you were affected.

“If you ever notice anything suspicious at a cash machine, please notify the bank or facility it belongs to straight away.”

Nottinghamshire Police would like anyone who used the cash points from 28 May 2019 – 22 July 2019 and did not receive cash to call 101 and quote incident number 529 of 7 August 2019.
