Jan. 21--Chicago police are warning South Loop residents of two men who have robbed at least four people getting into or out of their cars in recent weeks.
The robbers have targeted drivers in the early morning hours near Indiana and Prairie avenues south of 16th Street, according to police. The two have gone up to the drivers, shown black, semi-automatic pistols and demanded wallets, jewelry and cellphones, according to an alert issued by detectives Wednesday.
The robberies took place:
--In the 2200 block of South Indiana Avenue about 5:35 a.m. Jan. 13;
--In the 1600 block of South Indiana about 5:30 a.m. Jan. 13;
--In the 300 block of East 21st Street at 4:10 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. Jan. 11.
The robbers are described by victims in the Jan. 11 robberies as black men, both about 25 to 35 years old, 6 feet to 6-foot-2. In at least one robbery, one was wearing a black jacket and pink pants, and the other was wearing a blue face mask, a black hoodie and blue jeans.
In one of the robberies Jan. 13, the victim described one of the robbers as 6 feet to 6-foot-2, with short black hair, and wearing a black leather jacket and multicolored skeleton face mask.
