Police warn of robberies in Little Village, Humboldt Park

May 01--Police are warning pizza delivery drivers and residents in the Humboldt Park neighborhood and in the Little Village neighborhood of recent robberies.

Pizza delivery drivers were robbed during two incidents that both took place in the 1300 block of North Maplewood Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, according to a news release from the Chicago Police Department.

The latest case happened about 9:50 p.m. Friday, and the second incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the release.

In both cases, an attacker approached the delivery driver and brandished a metal pole. The attacker then stole the victim's pizza order and cash. In one case, the attackers stole the victim's car and fled in it, according to the release.

One suspect is a Hispanic man between 18 and 25 years old. He is between 5-foot-11 and 6-foot-2 in height and weighs between 175 and 180 pounds. He has short brown hair, brown eyes and light complexion. He was wearing a black or blue hooded sweatshirt and black jeans, according to the release.

A second attacker is a Hispanic man who is between 20 and 25 years old. He is 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-10 in height and weighs between 160 and 180 pounds. He has brown eyes, styled blond hair and a light complexion. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans, the release said.

Anyone with information about the two suspects or the incidents should call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.

Two more robberies occurred in Little Village recently. One incident happened in the 2800 block of West 25 Street about 4:15 a.m. on April 24, and another incident took place in the 2300 block of South Lawndale Avenue about 12:20 p.m. on April 17, according to a news release from police.

In both cases, an attacker approached the victims, displayed a handgun and demanded property. In one of the robberies, the attacker also spoke Spanish, according to the release.

The suspect in those two cases is a Hispanic man who is between 20 and 27 years old. He is between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-5. He weighs 140 pounds and has an olive or dark complexion.
