Police warn of garage, home burglaries in West Englewood

Police are warning South Side residents of a string of recent burglaries in West Englewood.

In each incident, someone broke into homes or garages and stole valuables, Chicago police said in a community alert.

The burglaries happened:

  • about 1 p.m. April 18 in the 7200 block of South Claremont Avenue;
  • about noon April 21 in the 7300 block of South Oakley Avenue;
  • about 9 a.m. April 23 in the 7100 block of South Bell Avenue; and
  • about 2 p.m. May 1 in the 7000 block of South Bell Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area One detectives at 312-747-8380.
