Police warn not to approach pair of exotic animals on the loose in Leeds

Police have warned people not to approach a pair of exotic animals that are on the loose in Leeds.

Roxy and Amadeus are a pair of male and female wallabies which have gone missing from Westfield Lane in Thorner, LS14 3DD.

Wallabies of course are not native to the UK and are usually seen in much warmer climes such as Australia.

Though police do not explain where they are from, it could be that the pair had been kept as pets.

Officers said people should not approach them, but 'if possible', try to trap them somewhere enclosed and ring 101.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Help needed in locating some special lost animals.

"Meet Roxy and Amadeus, male and female aallabies missing from Westfield Lane, Thorner, LS14 3DD.

"They should not be approached as they will be scared and just run. If possible try to get them into somewhere enclosed and contact us on our 101 number please.

"WYP log 1671 of 28/10/2021 is the reference number".
