Police warn drivers to stay clear of flooded road in Neath Abbey

South Wales Police are warning drivers and pedestrians to avoid a flooded road in Neath Abbey.

Cadoxton Road, which is located near the Tennant Canal and River Neath, is submerged with water between the junction for Dynevor Avenue and Dwr-Y-Felin Road - near Neath College campus.

Cars are warned not to attempt to drive down the road.

A South Wales Police statement, through their Neath Port Talbot unit, read: "Skewen NPT are dealing with flooding in the Neath Abbey area.

"Please avoid Cadoxton Road next to Burger King. The road is completely flooded. Take care when out and about this evening."

There are currently 11 flood alerts in Wales, although one has been removed in the last 24 hours, according to Natural Resources Wales.
