Police want to trace young girl seen wandering alone in a shopping centre

Police are keen to trace a young girl who was seen wandering alone in a Welsh town on Thursday afternoon.

The child, who is thought to be between four and six years old, was seen on her own in a busy shopping centre in the middle of Carmarthen.

She was seen outside the New Look store in St Catherine’s Walk at around 1.30pm on Thursday.

When she was last seen she was walking in the direction of the multi-storey car park, away from the town centre.

There have been no further sightings, and police are now appealing for information.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We received a report of a young girl, approximately aged between four and six years old, alone outside New Look, St Catherine’s Walk, Carmarthen, at around 1.30pm this afternoon (Thursday, June 27)

“There have been no reports of a missing child received in that area.

“Officers are fairly certain the child has been reunited with her mother, however, attempts are being made to trace the mother and child to confirm this and conclude our enquiries.”

The girl in question has shoulder length brown hair and was wearing a light pink top and pushing a doll’s pram when she was last seen.

If anyone has any information they are asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police by calling 101.
