Police want to speak to this woman about graffiti in the Bearpit

Police officers investigating graffiti in the Bearpit want to speak to this woman.

The submerged walkway at St James Barton Roundabout was already covered in tags just two days after its £250,000 makeover.

Now, police have launched a major appeal to trace a woman with a distinctive tattoo who was seen with spray paint in the area.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: "We are appealing for witnesses to help identify a women who we’d like to speak to in connection with criminal damage in The Bearpit, Bristol.

"The incident occurred sometime on Monday 29 July at the entrance to St James Barton underpass near the Holiday Inn where a wall was vandalised by graffiti.

"The woman (pictured) is described as a white female who was wearing a blue denim skirt, white t-shirt and sunglasses. She also has a distinctive tattoo on her left thigh.

"If you recognise the women in the images or have information which can help with our investigation, please call 101 quoting reference number 5219173439."

You can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111  or via their  Anonymous Online Form.

No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court or have to speak to police when contacting Crimestoppers.
