Police want to speak to this man over homophobic comments and drunken abuse on Manchester Piccadilly train

An appeal has been launched after a man verbally abused other passengers and made homophobic comments on a train.

Passengers on a train to Manchester Piccadilly saw an 'intoxicated' man being verbally abusive to other passengers and making homophobic comments.

British Transport Police have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.

The comments were made during the journey, between 11.30am and 3.15pm on Saturday, November 23.

The man left the train at Manchester Piccadilly.

Anyone who knows him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.

In both cases, the reference number is 1900101397.
