Police want to speak to this man following attempted robbery at South Tyneside store

Police want to speak to this man following an attempted robbery in South Tyneside.

Officers were called to the Lifestyle Express shop on Bede Burn Road, Jarrow, shortly before 9.30pm on March 28.

It was reported that a man, who had entered the store, had threatened the shop worker with a knife and demanded money from the till.

He then fled the scene empty-handed.

Nobody was injured but the employee was left shaken by the incident.

An investigation was launched into the incident, and as part of their ongoing enquiries, officers have released an image of a man who they would like to identify.

Police believe he could have information that can assist with the investigation.

The man, or anyone who knows him, is asked to contact the police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of the Northumbria Police website or by calling 101 quoting log 1033 280321.

Alternatively, you can contact independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
