Police have issued CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to after an 'unprovoked' hammer attack outside a bar last month. Cheshire constabulary are investigating the assault, which happened outside a licensed premises in Lymm in the early hours of July 24.
The incident saw the unknown suspect approach a man before attempting to strike him over the head with a hammer. The victim only sustained minor cuts in the attack.
The victim had been stood outside a licensed premises at the junction of Rectory Lane and Pepper Street at around 12am when the attack to place. The suspect then immediately fled the scene towards The Cross in Lymm Village.

Officers investigating the assault have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to as part of their enquiries. They are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.
Police Constable James Gibbison said: “This is a totally unprovoked attack and we are doing all we can to find the person responsible. Thankfully the man only sustained minor injuries but it could have been a lot worse.
“I am appealing to anyone who may know the man in the CCTV or the man himself to come forward. The same goes to anyone who may have information about the incident but has not yet spoken to police.”
