Police want to speak to this man after an Asda worker was subjected to an 'unprovoked barrage of abuse and violence'

Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to after an Asda worker was subjected to an 'unprovoked barrage of abuse and violence'.

The member of staff - a woman in her 40s - was pushed and threatened at the chain's Riverside Retail Park store in Radcliffe, at around 5pm on Tuesday, October 15.

Police have now released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Officers said the woman, while not injured, was 'understandably shaken'.

Police Constable David Green, of GMP’s Bury division, said: “This was an unprovoked barrage of abuse and violence towards a member of staff who was going about her daily business and it is completely unacceptable.

“This assault took place in front of many potential witnesses who were shopping at the time, so I would urge anyone with any information – no matter how insignificant it may seem - to please get in touch as soon as possible.”
