Police want to speak to this man after 18-year-old injured in 'unprovoked' attack on bus

Police are hoping to speak with this man after an 18-year-old was assaulted on a bus in Bolton last month.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police's transport unit are investigating after the teenager was attacked on the 575 bus from Wigan to Bolton at around 5.45pm on Monday, May 17.

The 18-year-old boy was left with injuries to his face after the unprovoked assault.

Now, police have released a picture of a man they'd like to speak to.

Officers believe he may be able to help with their investigations.

The picture was shared alongside a post on the GMP Bolton South Facebook page, which said: "Officers from the GMP Transport Unit are appealing for information after an assault on a bus in Bolton on Monday 17th May 2021.

"Officers were called at 5:45PM to a report of an 18 year old male who had been the victim of an unprovoked assault on the 575 bus which had been travelling from Wigan to Bolton and the man suffered facial injuries.

"Officers have released images of a man who they would like to speak to in connection to the incident who may be able to assist with the investigation."

Anyone who saw the assault, or may have any information about what happened, has been asked to contact police by ringing 101 or using GMP online live chat quoting incident 2136 of 17/05/2021.
