Police want to speak to this man about an unprovoked assault in Lakota nightclub

A man was left with a bleed on his brain following an unprovoked assault in a Bristol nightclub.

The victim, who is in his 20s, was punched in the face during the attack at Lakota on Upper York Street on Saturday, October 12.

He fell and hit his head on the floor as a result of the assault, which took place at around 1.20am.

The victim then received treatment at the scene before later attending hospital where he was diagnosed with a bleed on the brain.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has released a CCTV image of a man police officers want to speak to in connection with the incident.

A police spokesman said: "We’re releasing a CCTV image of a man we’d like to speak to following an assault at a Bristol nightclub.

"Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image is asked to call 101 and provide the call handler with the reference 5219236801.

"You can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their  Anonymous Online Form.

"No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court or have to speak to police when contacting Crimestoppers."
