Police want to speak to these men after a football fan was kicked in the head and left unconscious during a 'large-scale fight'

Police have released images of three men they want to speak to following a 'large-scale fight'.

The incident happened the same day as a football match between Bolton Wanderers and Shrewsbury Town on December 29 last year, and included supporters of both teams.

During the fight on Church Bank in Bolton town centre, a man was kicked in the head and left unconscious for several minutes. It was only when passers-by stopped to help that the man could be taken to safety.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) released images of three men they wish to speak to and said that they now have "no other option than for the public to help us identify them" after exhausting several lines of enquiry.

PC Rob Smith, of GMP's Specialist Operations, said: "This kind of disorder following a football match is not acceptable and could have resulted in even more people getting injured.

"The incident happened some time ago but a number of lines of enquiry have been followed up with no other option than for the public to help us identify them.

"Anyone who may recognise the men in the images is asked to call 0161 856 5671 or email hub.k@gmp.police.uk, quoting log number CRI/06KK/0000679/20.

"Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
