Two face court over brawl at Muswellbrook

Two men have faced court after a brawl at Muswellbrook during which the window of a police vehicle was smashed.

Zachary Dixon, 26, and Michael Murray Davidson, 19, were arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning after police were called to Clarence Way following reports of a large fight.

Police said they found several people inside and outside a home and officers allegedly broke up a brawl inside the premises.

Mr Davidson is accused of smashing the rear window of a police vehicle by allegedly throwing a beer bottle at it.

Police said Mr Dixon came out of the home with a knife and threatened people on the street.

Both men were arrested and charged.

Mr Dixon pleaded guilty in Muswellbrook Local Court on Thursday to one count each of affray and being armed with the intent to commit an indictable offence.

He was released on conditional bail and will be sentenced on April 29.

Mr Davidson did not enter any pleas when he faced the same court on charges of affray and destroying/damaging property with a value of $2000 or less.

He was also granted bail.

Magistrate Hugh Donnelly adjourned the matter to March 1.
