Police van smashes into wall of residential home in Swansea

A police vehicle on an emergency response smashed into the garden wall of a residential home in Swansea.

The South Wales Police van was responding to an emergency call when it was collision with the property on Weig Fach Lane, off Station Road, in Fforestfach on Monday evening.

No-one was injured in the incident.

Resident Vivienne Williams said: “I was inside when I heard a bang and wondered what it was.

“I didn’t see the collision, because my curtain was partly drawn which I do to watch television.

“I came to see what it was and there was a van through the wall.

“There were two officers, who came inside. The female officer was in a hell of a state.

“But ultimately it was just a wall. I’m pleased that no-one was injured. That is the good thing about it”.

South Wales Police confirmed no-one was injured in the incident.

A spokesman for the force added: “A police vehicle on route to an emergency call was in collision with a wall in Weig Fach Lane at about 5.45pm last night. No injuries were reported”.
