Police use stun gun during disturbance in Ayrshire as man, 31, arrested

Police deployed a stun gun during a disturbance at a property in East Ayrshire last night.

Officers raced to the scene at the town's McClymont Court shortly after 8pm.

A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a disturbance within a property at McClymont Court in Cumnock around 8.05pm on Tuesday, May 18.

"Officers attended and a 31-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

"A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

"This was a contained incident and there was no risk to the wider public.

"Nobody was injured.

"A Taser was deployed during the response to this incident.

"As with any Taser deployment a report will be submitted to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC)."
