Police are urging people to avoid the Liverpool Road area of Eccles and Junction 11 of the M60 due to heavy traffic from a car show.
A car show, run by Manchester Cars and Coffee, is currently underway at the Barton Aerodrome which is now at full capacity.
People are being turned away from the event which is running a one-in-one-out policy.
In a tweet, GMP Salford said: "#TRAFFIC Police are asking people to please avoid the Liverpool Road area in #Eccles, and Junction 11 of the M60 due to heavy traffic.
"There are queues to attend a car show at Barton Aerodrome, which is at full capacity, and people are now being turned away. Thank you."
Traffic monitoring account MancTraffic tweeted: "A57 Liverpool Rd, Barton Airport Event delays UPDATE: 'Manchester Cars And Coffee' social media updates that the event grounds are almost at full capacity and they are operating a '1 out 1 in' policy.
"The M60 j11 exits both ways are congested too."
