Police have launched an urgent hunt for a missing toddler who has vanished with his mum.

Dylan Hayes, three, was last seen with his mum, Kayley Hayes, last night in Selly Oak, Birmingham.

Concerns are growing for the youngster's welfare after the pair subsequently left their home in the Hawkesley area of the city.

The youngster and his mother have not been seen since.

West Midlands Police today issued an urgent alert and called people to dial 999 with information.

The force tweeted: "Have you seen three-year-old Dylan Hayes?"

"The toddler was last seen with his mother, Kayley Hayes, last night in Selly Oak, but concerns are now growing for his welfare, after they left their home address in Stocklands Close, Hawksley, Birmingham."

In a follow-up tweet, police added: "It is possible that Dylan has been left in the care of a friend or relative and we would urge them to get in touch so we can make sure he is safe and well.

"Anyone who knows their whereabouts should contact us on 999. Please RT."
