Police update on investigation into man in gimp suit terrorising villagers

A second man arrested after a person in a gimp suit terrified villagers in Claverham has been released on bail.

Two men, aged in their 30s and 20s, were arrested after a ''gimp'' dressed in a black latex body suit, ‘grunting and breathing heavily’, jumped out in front of a woman.

The terrified woman pushed the man away from her and started screaming and the man fled.

Police were alerted and sniffer dogs and a helicopter were drafted in to try to find the latex-clad stranger.

The latest incident on July 11 is one of 14 reports of a man approaching people while wearing disguises in the village since November.

The man in his 20s was released on bail earlier this week. The second man has now also been released on bail.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesperson said: "No charges have been made and both of the arrested have been released on police bail until August 12 and 13."
