Four people were taken to hospital after two buses collided in a busy city road.

Part of Lower Parliament Street were cordoned off by police after the crash on Wednesday (September 9).

Emergency services were at the scene from about 4.10pm and the road has reopened.

Witnesses saw the two vehicles collide at the road's junction with George Street before one bus went into pillars at the entrance to Argos.

The four people were taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-altering or life-threatening.

Inspector Arnie Ahmed, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are working to establish the circumstances of this incident including speaking to witnesses and looking at CCTV, but no arrests have been made.”
