Police update after woman struck by car on Longmoor Lane

Police have given an update after a woman was hit by car and on a major Liverpool road.

Closures were put in place for more than an hour after the pedestrian was struck by a Ford Fiesta at 11.15am on Wednesday.

The woman was taken to hospital after police said she was found "seriously injured" on Longmoor Lane at the junction with Hall Lane close to Warbreck Moor.

But although the woman was kept in hospital overnight, police today said thankfully her injuries did not appear as serious as first thought.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman told the ECHO: "The pedestrian was kept in hospital overnight but as a precaution" and added that she only suffered "minor injuries in the end thankfully".
