Police update after reports of gun sighting near Bristol GP surgery

Two men remain released under investigation after reports of a gun sighting in Henbury.

A witness said she saw around 12 marked police cars and some unmarked ones around 2pm on Saturday, September 19, next to the Bradgate GP Surgery on Ardenton Walk.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said at the time: "We received a call shortly after 10am, after windows of a property and vehicle were smashed in Westbury-on-Trym overnight.

"Shortly before 12.55pm we were informed of a sighting of a vehicle thought to be linked with the offence in the Henbury area.

"Officers, including an armed unit, were dispatched following a report that a firearm had possibly been seen inside the vehicle.

"The vehicle was stopped and a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. The vehicle was searched and no firearm was found."

A second man, aged 33, was also arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. Both suspects were brought into custody.
