Police update after man seen running from house covered in blood

Police have issued an update after a man was spotted running away from a house "covered in blood."

Officers were called to a property on Pennington Street at around 9.45pm on Sunday, June 4. It was first reported that a man had suffered a medical episode at the address in Walton.

It was then alleged the man ran away from the house with several injuries before he could be treated by police or paramedics. Detectives set up a cordon in the area and launched an investigation into the incident.

Police continued to search for the man but he was not located. However this morning, a spokesperson has confirmed the man has been found safe and well.

A man and a woman, aged 34 and 33, from Liverpool, were later arrested at the address on suspicion of Section 18 wounding and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs after officers spoke with them and found a quantity of drugs at the house. They have since been conditionally bailed.

In a previous appeal, Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: "We are in the early stages of an investigation into an incident which appears to have left a man with several injuries. Our officers are working with emergency services to find the man and piece together the circumstances of what took place on Pennington Drive.

"Therefore, I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw the incident or the man in question to come forward and let us know. Similarly, if you have doorbell footage and live in the surrounding area then please review it and tell us if you see anything. Information you hold could be vital to our ongoing investigation.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook or with reference 23000481501. You can also call Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111, or their online form at https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/give-information-anonymously."
