Police update after emergency crews descended on Tesco Express and filling station

Police were called to a medical incident outside a Tesco Express in Bristol today (Friday, June 16).

Around 9am, six ambulances and a police car were spotted at the Texaco filling station on Henleaze Road.

The shop in the north of the city is in a residential area, opposite the Trinity Henleaze URC Church.

It was not clear at the time what had occurred at the scene to draw out so many emergency vehicles.

Avon and Somerset Police were contacted for a statement and have since responded with details of the event.

A spokesman said: "We were called at 9.05am by the ambulance service asking us to support them with a medical incident they were dealing with outside Tesco Express store in Henleaze because it is in a public area.

"Nothing suspicious about the circumstances."
