Police update after death in Fishponds

Police are not treating the death of a man in Fishponds as suspicious, officers have said.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary was called to Tyndale Avenue at 11.12am this morning (January 4).

Shortly afterwards, the force confirmed to Bristol Live, it was looking into an "unexplained death" - and has now provided an update.

A police spokesperson said: "It is not a suspicious death - but it is still unexplained. We will do some enquiries on behalf of the coroner.

"We have also arrested a man on suspicion of production of cannabis. This is not connected to the death."

Around five police vehicles and two South Western Ambulance Service vehicles attended this morning.

Police have also confirmed the person who died was a man.
