Police up patrols after boy approached by man during 'suspicious incident' in Strelley

Police are investigating reports that a boy was approached by a man during a 'suspicious incident'. On Tuesday, June 6, a boy was approached by a man shortly after 4pm.

Nottinghamshire Police said there was no attempt to take the child, who was approached on Cranwell Road, in Strelley, but that he had been left "shaken up" from the incident. Sergeant Ian Johnson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are currently investigating reports of a boy being approached by a man in Cranwell Road, Broxtowe.

“The boy was not harmed and returned home safely following this suspicious incident, which happened at around 4.15pm on Tuesday (6 June). We have carried out inquiries to establish exactly what happened and, while there was no attempt to take the child, he was left shaken up by the incident.

“To provide reassurance to the public, we will be increasing patrols around the Strelley area over the next few days. Anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting incident 522 of 6 June 2023.”
