Police uncover massive cannabis farm inside house in south Leeds

Officers have swooped on a house in south Leeds and discovered a huge cannabis farm.

West Yorkshire Police's Leeds South team received a tip-off about the illegal activity inside a property in Holbeck. It led to officers carrying out a raid at the address, where someone was arrested by the force.

"Acting on community intelligence, officers have located a large cannabis farm within a residential property in Holbeck," said a post on the West Yorkshire Police - Leeds South Facebook page.

"One person has been arrested in relation to this and enquiries are ongoing."

A similar raid earlier this month saw police find almost 300 cannabis plants in a property on Thorpe Road, Middleton.

Cannabis is a Class B drug. People caught in possession of Cannabis can be issued with a £90 on the spot fine and people who supply and produce the substance can be jailed for up to 14 years.
