Police uncover huge cannabis farm with street value of £270,000 in Longsight

A huge cannabis farm with a street value of around £270,000 has been uncovered by police.

Officers made the discovery after executing a drugs warrant in the Longsight area on Wednesday (November 25).

The plants were found inside a property near Anson Road - locally referred to as the 'Anson estate'.

Police said the class B drugs would be worth 'approximately £270,000' at street value.

It has not yet been confirmed whether any arrests were made.

Pictures shared on the GMP Longsight and Moss Side Facebook page show the huge farm in what appears to be a large room with lamps inside.

A ventilation system can also be seen in another room full of plants.

Alongside the pictures, an officer wrote: "Longsight neighbourhood team and friends have conducted a warrant on the Anson estate this morning seizing an amount of cannabis with the approx street value of £270,000."
