Police uncover hidden den made from haul of stolen items

A secret den made out of stolen goods was discovered and dismantled by police.

The den, which was described as being concealed 'off the beaten track', was found in Aughton.

Ormskirk and Rural West Lancashire Police said the den consisted of several stolen benches, chairs and tables. The structure had also been built using stolen tools.

The purpose of the den hasn't been disclosed, but a photo shows it was constructed using tree trunks, branches, wooden fencing and wire mesh.

The top of the den was covered in plastic tarpaulin to help protect whoever used it from the elements.

Police confirmed the den had now been dismantled in a post on their Facebook page.
