Police uncover $520k cannabis operation inside Hunter Valley home

Police have seized 260 cannabis plants with a street value of $520,000, allegedly found in a Cessnock home

About 7.30am Tuesday July 21, Hunter Valley detectives went to a property in Cessnock to execute a search warrant.

During a search of the home, officers allegedly located an "elaborate hydroponic cannabis cultivation setup".

Police seized a total of 260 mature cannabis plants, as well as cannabis seedlings, dried cannabis and hydroponic equipment.

The property was found to be illegally connected to the power grid and was disconnected with the assistance of a utility provider.

The scene was forensically examined by specialist officers, and Hunter Valley police are continuing the investigation.
