Police uncover 140 cannabis plants during raid near Dungog

A man has been charged after police uncovered a hydroponic cannabis-growing set-up containing more than 100 marijuana plants just north of Dungog this week.

It came after Port Stephens-Hunter Police District officers went to a home at Fosterton on Wednesday morning to execute a search warrant.

Nobody was home at the time, but police searched the property and found a hydroponic set-up where 140 cannabis plants were allegedly growing - along with fertiliser and other items investigators allege are used to cultivate drugs.

A 26-year-old Fosterton man was later arrested at Raymond Terrace Police Station and handed a Court Attendance Notice.

He will face Dungog Local Court on October 26.
