Police turn around A&E doctor and partner for breaking coronavirus rules to travel to Snowdonia

An A&E doctor was found breaking coronavirus rules after being pulled over by police in north Wales.

North Wales Police said the doctor and their partner were spotted in Betws-Y-Coed in Snowdonia after travelling from an area currently in lockdown in the UK.

The pair have been reported for summons and were "advised to go home", officers from Llanrwst said.

The post, shared by North Wales Police Conwy Valley said: "Police Officers from Llanrwst have today reported for summons an A&E doctor along with their partner for breaching the COVID Wales legislation after travelling from an area of the UK on full covid lockdown. They have been advised to return home."

Currently Welsh Government rules limits travel to Wales from the rest of the UK to only those with a "reasonable excuse" such as work or to care for others.

Travel within Wales is permitted for residents, but travel out of Wales is allowed only in certain circumstances. You can find more information about the rules here.
