Police trawl River Clyde in search for missing 21-year-old Lexi Carmichael

Police have been trawling the River Clyde in search for a woman who vanished after a night out in Glasgow.

Lexi Carmichael, 21, was last seen leaving the Counting House pub near George Square shortly after 11pm on Wednesday night.

She is described as 5ft11in tall, with a slim build and dark brown hair.

She was wearing a black and white top with a flower on the front, black trousers and black and white trainers when she disappeared.

Police confirmed that they are searching the river for Lexi but said they are still currently treating her as a missing person.

A force spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that Lexi Carmichael is still a missing person.

"One line of enquiry is searching the river as part of the ongoing operation.

"You can pass on information by calling 101, quoting reference 3987 of 11 December."
