Police to use drone as part of Stirling park antisocial behaviour crackdown

Police are taking to the skies as part of their latest effort to tackle antisocial behaviour in King's Park.

Local cops will be assisted by specialist teams using a police drone as they continue their ongoing Operation Nippet in the park, which aims to address youth disorder and reassure the local community.

The drone, which will be controlled by the Air Support Unit, flies high above roof spaces and empty land to assist with operations in the park ahead of a warm stretch of weather in the coming days.

At an earlier incident related to Operation Nippet in April, a police officer was injured after being assaulted in the Stirling hotspot - with 15 people being charged for a string of antisocial behaviour offences.

The offences included consuming alcohol in a public place, drugs possession, breaches of the peace, police assault and resisting arrest.

The drone will be in place both this evening (July 16) and Saturday night (July 17).
