Police to ramp up patrols at Kelvingrove Park over the Easter weekend

Police Scotland have announced they will be extra patrols at Kelvingrove Park this weekend.

More officers will be in the area in anticipation of crowds flocking to the west end park to enjoy the scorching weather over the Bank Holiday.

The force have warned people to "act responsibly" and that drinking alcohol in public places is an offence.

Today is set to be the hottest day yet, with Glasgow experiencing highs of 22 degrees through this afternoon.

The temperature is set to peak around 19C over the next few days – though Saturday and Sunday are expected to be cloudier. Monday (still a holiday for some) shows clear skies and lots of sunshine.

You might not be able to have a legal swally in the great outdoors, but here's our pick of beer gardens so you can have an al fresco pint without getting booked.
